4 months old

My baby is now 4 months, yey!
She went to her doctor's appointment and basically everything went well. She is now officially a big girl and can begin solid baby food... she can eat cereal, veggies and fruits. Alyssa is now 14 pounds 1 ounce and 25 inches long. She is in the 78th percentile in height/length and 63 percentile in weight. She is still above average, but I kinda thought she would weigh more since she is eating so much lately.
So, just like last time Alyssa got her shots 2 on one leg and 2 on the other and 1 by mouth. Also, just like her last sset of shots when she was 2 months, alyssa got a fever. :(
I tried to prevent it but it did not work out the way i hoped. The next day at 6am Alyssa woke up with a fever of 100.5 I was so worried that I ended up staying home from work. Thank God I did because her fever got worse. By 2pm it was up to 101.3 and by then I freaked out, We ended uo buying her some medicine Motrin for infants. That definitly worked. by 6:30p she was back to normal. yey!

So, today was a very busy day. I took Alyssa to the sitter because I had to go to work today. Alyssa had ate 4 ounces at 4am, so her next feeding was suppose to be at 8am but she was not feeling well and skipped that feeding. She ate at 11:30 about 2 ounces but spit up all of it, then she just kept throwing up like 2 more times. Jason and I got so worried that we left work, picked her up from the sitter and took her to the doctor. Well the outcome was that Alyssa has a viral infection stomach flue.

MY POOR BABY IS SICK!

Now she can't eat any food and has to drink that yucky pedialyte. Now she is hungry and I cant feed her any milk. That sucks. I feel helpless and when she cries I don't know how to make her feel better. Jason is being a wonderful daddy. He is good at soothing her and helping calm her down when she is fussing.
I want my baby to be back to normal, back to being the happy little baby that she is always.

Alyssa is 3 months!!!

Alyssa is 3 months now and cuter than ever. Here are some updates on what she's been up to...

She has a set schedule now. Alyssa wakes up usually around 5-7am days vary. She eats every 4 hours about 4-6 ounces. around 8pm she gets her bath which calms and cools her down from the hot summer day. She drinks her last bottle arounnd 8:30-9:30 depends. She quickly falls asleep when she finishes her bottle. She is such a great baby because she sleeps until 5-7am.. What a wonderful little girl we have.

Yes sometimes Alyssa can get a little fussy. like all babies she cries but i know i got it down. There are only two reasons why Alyssa cries. 1 being she is hungry but that cry is more like a whine. The 2nd cry is when she is tired and sleepy. She will actually cry until i give her the infamous pacificer and hold her till she falls asleep. This usually doesnt take long she is out in less than 5 minutes. When she is hungry and sleepy (usually happens at night time) all i have to do is prepare her bottle and she quites down, drinks her bottle and goes to sleep... and she practically sleeps through the night. Good baby.

Alyssa also LOVES to suck on her two fingers. she has her hands in her mouth 24 hours a day. She even has them in her mouth when im bathing her. lol Adorable.

Today, when I was changing her diper, Alyssa grabbed her feet. This is a first. Yey!!!! It was so cute she was playing with her feet and of course i had to take a picture. She still has not put them in her mouth =) but she is reaching out for them.

She reaches out for things now. I place a toy infront of her or her pacificer infront of her and she gets super excited and she tries to reach out for it, I've noticed and my mother in law has noticed too that she usually grabs things with her left hand. She tells me that Alyssa has a stronger grip with her left hand than with her right. Who knows maybe alyssa will be a lefty like her mommy!!!

Happy 4th of JULY!!!!

For the 4th of July we took ALyssa to Knotts Berry Farm. She's young yes but she had a good time. I guess. lol We took lotts of pictures so that when she gets older she can look back and see how little she was when she met snoopy. =)

It was one last fun thing that we got to do before I returned to work.

Yes today was my 1st day back to work. I was excited to return to work but at the same time saddend that I had to leave my little one. Jason was watching her so I didn't have anything to worry about but still. The fact of leaving her for a whole day is something I was not looking foward to. I missed her so much.

Everytime someone at work said welcome back and asked me about the baby I blabbed on about all the cute little things she does.

  • She is not a thumb sucker but she does stick her index and middle finger in her mouth and sucks like theres no tomorrow. Its the cutest thing in the world. I Love it!

  • She also has the cutest smile ever. I love taking her a bath too. Alyssa you love the water mama!

  • When I take you a bath you kick and kick splashing the water with your little feet, that makes you smile. =)

"Alyssa Mommy loves you so much and you are growing so fast I know that you love me too and that you know im your mommy. Even when I am not there to watch you know that I am thinking of you every minute of the day."

Rock on baby! =)
Happy 4th of July!!!!

Still growing! :)

Whats new with Alyssa .... lots of stuff! She is getting so big now and I am a very proud mommy. Lately she has been going to bed around 10pm and doesnt wake up till 5:30 or 6am. I love it~!
She is also eating more. 5-6 ounces per feeding.
I love her so much!
Next week I am going back to work. I kinda have mixed feelings about it. I want to go back because of the money.... im in desperate need of some new clothes. I start my internship as a teacher this September so I definitly need some professional clothes that fit nicely and that I look good in. :)
At the same time I don't want to return to work because I don't want to leave my baby. I want to be with her every second of the day. . . what if she does something new like crawl, say her first word, or do something hilarious that I would find so adorable.
I guess all First time mommy's go through this but ive spent the last 2 1/2 months taking care of my baby all day everyday, but now i have to give her to someone else for at least 8 hours of the day. Its just so difficult hopefully I dont cry. lol :)
Well, Alyssa has been smiling non-stop for weeks now but I have not been able to capture her smiling in a picture.... UNTIL NOW!!!! YEY!
She is so beautiful. 2 months 2 weeks and 5 days and every day is still unbelievable. :)

Ear piercing day

Alyssa got her ears pierced yesterday. She looks so cute although she did not enjoy it much the outcome was perfect.

Here She is getting her lilttle ear lobes cleaned.

Here they are marking her ear where they will put the hole. She has no idea whats going on. :)
Hold still Alyssa. Ready..... 1...2...3 and Ouchhhhh....The little mami didn't enjoy this part. :(
But once we gave her the favorite binky she felt a whole lot better....see no more tears!
